Since Paul was a little boy he always knew his one chore - to take out the trash. Paul soon realized that Mother knows best, that is why she chose to have Vintage Waste take over where he left off.

These days Paul uses his trash taking skills on the football field. But his mother continues with Vintage Waste due to their uncompromising service of hauling good ol' trash and organic waste. While other refuse haulers are moving towards automated service, this family-owned business trends back to the days past - personalized service and carts returned neatly by someone who has the time to say hello when Paul leaves for college.

"We all do the same thing, which is pick up your garbage," said Vintage Waste Systems owner Corey Metcalf. But to compete in the western suburbs where there are several other refuse haulers, the new family-owned business needed an edge. In addition to bringing organic waste recycling to the west end of the lake, Vintage Waste also turned back the clock. "While all of our competitors are moving toward automated collection, we are trending back to the service of the old days," said Corey Metcalf. "Personal service, carts returned neat, someone who has the time to say hello."
